The Peter Carr Memorial Conference

To honor the life and career of Peter Carr, the beloved teacher, scholar, colleague, chair of the NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s Department of Finance and Risk Engineering and member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Quantitative Analysts (SQA), we would like to announce the Peter Carr Memorial Conference, to be held jointly by NYU Tandon and the SQA.

This conference aims to memorialize Peter, his contributions to financial engineering, and the legacy he’s left behind for generations of professionals and academics to extend and follow.

Call for Presentations/Papers: The FRE Department will be soliciting abstracts from academics and practitioners for financial engineering papers to be presented at the conference. Please contact: david.shimko@nyu.edu. Also, the Journal of Derivatives will publish selected papers from the conference in a dedicated future issue. More details will be provided as they become available.

Public Health Policies:

This conference will be held on the NYU Tandon campus and, thus, will be subject to all University guidance and protocols. Please note that at present, all NYU community members—including visitors—are required to be up to date on their vaccinations against COVID-19 (which includes a booster, if eligible), upload valid proof of vaccination, and complete the Daily COVID-19 Screener for Campus Access.
